Book Review: Wallbanger by Alice Clayton ****

Published: November, 2012
Genre: Erotica, Humour
My Rating: 4 Stars

Caroline Reynolds has a fantastic new apartment in San Francisco, a Kitchen Aid mixer, and no O (and we’re not talking Oprah here, folks). She has a flourishing design career, an office overlooking the bay, a killer zucchini bread recipe, and no O. She has Clive (the best cat ever), great friends, a great rack, and no O.

Adding insult to O-less, since her move, she has an oversexed neighbor with the loudest late-night wallbanging she’s ever heard. Each moan, spank, and–was that a meow?–punctuates the fact that not only is she losing sleep, she still has, yep, you guessed it, no O.

Enter Simon Parker. (No, really, Simon, please enter.) When the wallbanging threatens to literally bounce her out of bed, Caroline, clad in sexual frustration and a pink baby-doll nightie, confronts her heard-but-never-seen neighbor. Their late-night hallway encounter has, well, mixed results. Ahem. With walls this thin, the tension’s gonna be thick…

Oh my O. This is definitely one of my favourite adult contemporary novels ever, it was just immensely funny I was giggling the whole way through, by the end my cheeks had some serious pain.

Ms Clayton definitely packed this book full with lots of humour, it's the reason I loved this book so much, whilst I was reading it I was always happy. If you read this on public transport beware, you will look like a freak with a huge grin stuck on your face. At moments though the book did come across annoying as the book resolved round the sexual tension and frustration between the two central characters of Caroline and Simon.

Simon was a great love interest, first of all you think he is just a common man whore but he is really developed in to so much more. The wit and banter between him and Caroline was just so playful, hilarious and sexy. It makes you want to have that kind of fun in your life. The good thing about this book is not only the main characters were entertaining, the minor characters also played a role in the entertainment. Espeacilly Clive, Caroline's cat, I don't think I could love a fictional pet any more! He was just absolutely off the wall amazing.

The only disappointing thing about this book is the plot, everything seemed to centre around Caroline's missing 'O'. The theme became really repetitive which would be really annoying in any other book but in this book it was just slightly. I would of loved a bit more substance to the plot but it is what it is and I still had a blast reading this.
